Jack Alvarez represents Division 4 as a Director on the South Delta Water Agency Board, a position he took over from his father. Born and raised in the Tracy area, he is a third generation south Delta farmer. Jack’s family farming operations are diversified and include cherries, almonds, tomatoes and beans. He is also on the Board of Directors of West Side Irrigation District, a federal water contactor, so he's familiar with both export and in-Delta water issues. He has testified on numerous occasions before the State Water Resources Control Board as an expert witness on Delta issues including salinity and its effects on crops.
Natalino Bacchetti represents Division 2 as a Director of the South Delta Water Agency Board. He was born in Ferndale California but moved to the Tracy area when he was 5 years old. His family farming began with a dairy, but now includes cattle, and the farming of alfalfa, wheat and orchard grass for feed. Nat serves on the Board of Directors of Reclamation District 2058 (Pescadero) and has ben a director of the Delta Water Users Association
Mary Hildebrand represents Division 4 as a Director on the South Delta Water Agency Board. She grew up in the South Delta and after college and a career in the biotechnology industry as a certified equity professional, she returned in 1996 to the family farm to work with her father, a farmer and licensed engineer who worked on Delta issues for almost fifty years. Mary also sits on the San Joaquin Farm Bureau board and the Delta Water Users board, and served on the Calif Flood Control Assoc board for many years. She has been on the SDWA board since 2004.
Paul Marchini represents Division 3 as the newest Director of the South Delta Water Agency. He is a graduate of Fresno State and was born and raised in the southern Delta. His extended family farming operations evolved into his current operations with his immediate family. He and his family farm on Union Island, Roberts Island and Fabian Tract and their most important crops include wine grapes and almonds. In addition to being on the Board of SDWA, he is on the boards of Union Island Mutual Water District, Delta Water Users and the Roberts Union Farm Center. As his children assume more responsibilities in their farming business, Paul looks to spend the majority of his time protecting the water supply and quality in the Delt
Jerry Robinson represents Division 1 of the South Delta Water Agency and serves as Chairman of the Board. He was born and raised in the southern Delta, growing up on Roberts Island. Jerry is a 3rd generation farmer, his grandfather having arrived in the Delta in 1879. Jerry’s family has farmed a wide variety of crops over the years and also built and operates a feed mill. He is a past president of the San Joaquin County Farm Bureau, and currently serves on the boards of RD 544, the Delta Water Users Association and the Roberts Union Farm Center. Jerry has been active in Delta Water issues for over 50 years
John Herrick was born and raised in Lodi, California in a farming family. He graduated from Cal Poly SLO and McGeorge School of Law. Mr. Herrick has served as general counsel and manager of the South Delta Water Agency since 1994 and as such has been intimately involved in Delta related programs and issues for over 26 years. Mr. Herrick does not represent other clients but as general counsel he assists local landowners and farmers with water right, water quality, diversion and reclamation issues.
